- Just a quick note to say that after contacting Silica Mail Order in search of an A4000/60
- (shame there's no desktop version), I've been told that it has been delayed until 4th April
- (the A4000/40 should be out now). Shame. Also, from what I've seen in their catalogue, it
- seems that the tower cases are EXACTLY the same as those used on Escom PeeCees (except the
- fascia). The back of the machine looks identical.
-
- Secondly, I use Macs at Uni, and have downloaded quite a bit of data. What I'd like to do is
- to be able to take the stuff home to put on my Amiga. Problem is filing systems are
- incompatible (obviously). What I'd like to know is how I should go about interchanging
- information using the drive (the serial link is too damn slow!). I've tried formatting the
- cartridge on the Mac as M$-DOS format, but it won't let me, and when I format it in that way
- on the Amiga, the Mac can't read it (PC Exchange don't like it, and I HAVE tried the control
- panel -also Apple File Exchange can't do anything either). The alternative is to get a Mac
- filing system for the Amiga. I've tried AmiCDFS and it either can't write anything to the
- disc (write-protected, it says) or it just says that it isn't present. As I have an
- A500+ with a GVP HD8+, the controller is probably looking for a Rigid Disc Block which it
- can't find. Should I look at CrossMac, or MaxDOS ? Thanks!
